Sorry guys & girls not a lot to report about regarding the fishing, with this heat wave we have had over the past 3 weeks temperatures reaching 40 degrees with this no rain or winds. One good thing has come out of it....................
Yes at long last the fish have finally spawned they started on the Tuesday and kept at it all week through to Saturday evening. With this now out the way we will expect the fish to remain a little moody for the next week before the fishing can get back to normal.
Well done to our guests that where on this week there wasn't a lot they could do on the fishing front, other than sit back and enjoy the roasting hot weather and top up there tans.

A WRITE UP SENT TO US FROM MIKE:
Having enjoyed Lac Desire last year we ventured off to Lac Des Lesmont in June. Just like Desire it's layout and facilities were excellent, especially the food which was always hot when it arrived in your swim complete with serviette (now that's posh). The lodges are like home from home and being able to fish watching the football on TV while fishing was the ultimate icing on the cake.
A very easy 4 and half hour drive including coffee stops and drove straight to it on the instructions given without a sat nav.
The bailiff and his wife could not help you any more and if you were snagged he was there all the time to retrieve your gear within minutes.
His knowledge is exceptional and having been with very experienced angler for 20 odd years to France his rig knowledge made us look like novices. You could arrive there with no carp fishing experience and he would set you up to catch the big ones with ease and confidence.
The fish stock is tremendous and having witnessed numerous fish being banked they are all in stunning condition, several PB's were broken and after 20 odd years (that's no mean feat)
A fantastic week with 2 of the nicest helpful experienced people you will ever meet and a chance of catching that fish in a lifetime.
We are already booked for next year and with years of trying everywhere in France now won't bother with any where else as I seriously doubt you find better venues with top quality big fish.
Great work keep it up. (You must try the bread and butter pudding just like your granny made you).

BEGINNING OF NOVEMBER WORK TO LESMONT
Winter has arrived, the anglers now slowing down as the season comes to a end and improvements have already started with the lodge decking, the posts and railings being removed.
Listening to our customer feedback, we have raised the original lodge swim and removed a very large willow to the left of the decking area, thus creating a second bivvy area.
The two new swims also have new concrete steps due to the water level that vary over the year, making it much easier for landing that Lesmont lump.....
All walkways leading to the lodge doors & patio area are now finished with what we believe more practical shingle.
With all this work carried out we believe it will give the anglers better scope of their water & stunning views of the lake.
We will keep you up date as and when we do more improvements.

Mark Fieldings family were in the lodge, struggling with hook pulls through the week but still managing to bank a 43lb 8oz on the last night.
Some very cold nights here last week, the days did warm up, but due to the evenings dropping in temperture so much this did slow the fishing down slightly.

13/10/2008

25 fish out this week, pretty good considering only 4 out of the 11 swims were actually fished. Again small amount of bait seems to be the winning formula.
08/09/2008
We had the pleasure of welcoming Glen Vinnings group on this week.
The first night kicked off with young Charlie who at 14 years of age has had a PB of 14lb banked a 44lb. Well done Charlie on your new PB.
There were a total of 9 anglers who banked 37 plus fish. A total of 4 PBs were broken. Congratulations to all.
Fish sizes as follows 23x 20pluses, 7x 30pluses, 5x 40pluses and a cat at 97lb.This was banked by Sam who all week persevered for a big fish. Look forward to seeing you all very soon.
Again as ive said before, small amounts of bait seem to be working. The fish are not liking big amounts at the moment this will only push the fish out of your area. Keep it small.
NEWS UPDATE
David Simner whos is in the lodge this week has had stretch out last night 08/09/2008 weighing in at 58lb.Well done David

Good Luck to Tony and Jo with the birth in October.
Mr Van Loon who has a two week holiday with us in the lodge had 3 fish out between 29lb 4oz and 42lb 8oz in his first week, good luck with your second week.
Weather conditions were spot on for fishing which has helped. Between the 2 groups they have managed to bank 8x 30lbs plus, 5x 40lbs and a 50lb fish.
11/08/2008
Good week on Lesmont this week with 5 anglers on. 20 plus fish out with a PB for James of 45lb 12oz and over 8 fish lost. The group between them managed to bank 6 fish over 42lb to 51lb. Small offerings of bait seems to be the answer, as it is still hot here.
The 40s & 50s were all caught off with a new bait that we are now selling in the tackle shop.
Well done lads hope to see you all soon.
05/08/2008
There were over 50 runs this week, but we believe to finicky feeding that 30 plus fish were banked up to 51lb 8oz, several 40s up to 49lb 8oz. Well done Roger Hicks who banked Ronnie for the second time, as he has had him in the past. Also well done to Teun Dekker who caught rotten bottom at 49lb 8oz, which was his new PB.
Even due to the red hot weather this week the lake fished better than expected. Working tactics still seem to be little and often.
28/07/2008
Paul Lanes group at Lesmont last week managed to bank over 50 fish between them. Well done to Ian who had his PB of 41lb 8 0z mirror. The rest of the group banked fish up to 49lb. Physco graced the banks for the first time this year, with a weight of 46lb spawned out.
The work to peg 4 margins seem to have worked, as the fish seem to have spread out ie peg 9 last week had 10 fish and lost 7. Peg 2 had 20 fish. The working tactics seems to be a handful of bait.
Well done lads see you next September.
21/07/2008
Lesmont fished well this week, as the fish have finally finished spawning. A total of 8 anglers on, 4 of which were Italian Magazine writers (we cant wait to see the write up on us).
The group this week managed to bank 42 fish between them, with 5 losses. Plenty of 30lbs and a few 40lbs. Well done to Keith who fished peg 1 on his last night and managed a P.B of 33lb 8oz.
Also we have managed a little bit of Italian, well done guys see you all soon
14/07/2008
This week things have started to kick off on Lesmont as the fish have finished their 2nd bout of spawning. Roger Hicks group from Essex managed to bank 32 fish between the 4 of them several 40lbs plus 7x 30s and the rest being good upper 20s & of course a 54lb 8oz common known as TYSON. This is the first time out this year well done to Trevor Stock who banked him. Trevor also managed 3x 40s & 4x 30s.
The other anglers managed 7 fish between them 6x 30s plus 1x 42lb. Well done to you all we will see you later on this year & next year

07/07/2008
We would like to welcome back Andy Donaghy and his three mates, they booked the whole lake exclusively. It was a hard week for them as the fish were still finishing spawning, but they still managed 16 carp on the bank between them, and also lost a few.
Andy had a new PB at 45lb 10oz and well done to Ian for his first ever grass carp at 26lb 10oz. Hope to see you back again next year lads.

30/06/08
Week two for Andy (governor) & mates they had several carp between them to 41lb which Wasnt to bad as the carp did spawned on them in the first part of the week so they took the opportunity to continue with there work party. Hayleys harvester the garden area as had a revamp along with the lodge decking area also the toilet/shower block all the gravel tracks have been top up then at the end of the week we had five divers in to help locate & remove more of the snags this time from open water. Now some of the bigger snags have been removed form the lake we believe this should stop the carp holding up in the same spots as much

23/06/08
Andy (governor) & a few mates are at the lake for two weeks on a bit of a work party with the added bonus of some fishing on the first night/early morning coops form Hitchin had his PB 58lb mirror know as pops on the bank of swim 8 well done mate (unfortunately the photos we have received are very bleary so we are unable to add them to the gallery) all was looking good for the week ahead then the weather turn red hot on them and the fish where showing sings of spurning but it was a good time to bring the rods in & get on wiyh some work in the water to tak
